Washington DC region

Based in the Washington, D.C. region, Dyslexic Edge partners with Affordable Homes and Communities to bring award-winning literacy and STEM programs directly to students where they live. Beginning in Fall 2025, the program will be offered at four AHC locations, ensuring children in affordable housing communities have access to high-quality instruction, confidence-building experiences, and opportunities to discover their strengths.

Strands of Accelerated Reading (SOAR) is honored to serve as the literacy intervention partner for Books, Bots, and Beyond, and we are working hard to make sure Western New York is among the first regions to benefit from this award-winning program.

This is our hometown, and we believe every child in the “716” deserves the chance to not only become a confident, proficient reader but also to step boldly into the future of STEM.

As Suzanne Pollutro, SOAR’s Founder and CEO, puts it: “We want every child to have the opportunity to become a proficient reader, because literacy is the key that unlocks doors—not just in school, but in every career, especially in the STEM fields of tomorrow.”

We can’t do it alone. That’s why we’re calling on schools, community centers , families, businesses, and community leaders across the 716 to get involved.
