United for Impact—Three Organizations, One Bold Mission
Transforming student literacy. Empowering future-ready learners. Closing opportunity gaps.
These goals are ambitious—but not impossible. In fact, they’re exactly what happens when the right partners come together with a shared purpose.
Books, Bots, and Beyond is not just another after-school program. It’s the result of a national collaboration between three proven organizations, each bringing unique strengths to the table—and each committed to ensuring that every child has access to the tools they need to succeed.
Together, we’re not just filling time after school. We’re building the future of education.
Meet the Powerhouse Behind the Program
🔹 The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE) Foundation
The IMSE Foundation brings decades of expertise in literacy instruction grounded in the Science of Reading. Through their philanthropic arm, they provide the structured, multisensory curriculum that powers the literacy side of the program.
Their mission: ensure every student, regardless of zip code, has access to evidence-based reading instruction that works.
🔹 The National Literacy Coalition
As the logistical and funding hub, the National Literacy Coalition manages the behind-the-scenes coordination required to launch and scale this program nationwide. From onboarding schools to stewarding donor investments, they ensure smooth, sustainable operations and measurable outcomes.
Their focus: connecting resources, data, and strategy to achieve literacy equity at scale.
🔹 Strands of Accelerated Reading (SOAR)
SOAR is the engine that drives delivery. With a network of IMSE-certified educators, SOAR provides trained instructors who specialize in both literacy intervention and STEM facilitation. These are not volunteers—they are experienced professionals trained to accelerate learning and spark curiosity.
Their promise: deliver high-quality instruction that transforms struggling students into confident, capable learners.
Stronger Together: Why This Partnership Works
Most after-school programs are siloed. They focus on either academic remediation or enrichment—but rarely both. They may have good intentions, but lack cohesive design, expert instructors, or long-term strategy.
Books, Bots, and Beyond changes that.
By bringing together curriculum experts (IMSE), field-tested delivery (SOAR), and national infrastructure (National Literacy Coalition), we offer:
A turnkey, scalable program schools can implement quickly
A free, full-year proving ground for schools, made possible by donor funding
Ongoing support, training, and evaluation to ensure results
This isn’t a patchwork solution. It’s an integrated, award-winning model that recently earned the title of #2 STEM Program in Washington, DC—because it works.
Built for Expansion. Designed for Equity.
In Year 1, Books, Bots, and Beyond is serving schools and organizations in Western New York and Washington, DC. In Years 2 and 3, we’re expanding to new states and regions—with the goal of reaching hundreds of schools across the country.
Our model ensures:
Every site begins with a core cohort of at least five students
Each student receives 80+ hours of integrated instruction per year
Schools commit to funding continuation after a successful first year
Donors make it all possible by covering $5,000 per student in Year 1
This Is More Than Partnership. It’s Proof of What’s Possible.
This program doesn’t exist without collaboration—and it doesn’t succeed without support. But when school leaders and donors align with our vision, they’re investing in a model that’s ready to scale and proven to work.
Together, we are:
Empowering readers
Sparking curiosity
Closing achievement gaps
Building the foundation for lifelong learning
